We are delighted to announce that each session of two
hours at our French Club Escargot
now only costs £5!!!
The lowering of the price was
one of our urgent aims and thanks to the
support of the community at the Big BETTA Bastille Ball we are now able to
do this.
Please contact us if you would like your
children to attend the next term, which starts on 10
September 2011,
or if would like more information about this French Club for
children.
This term we will also be holding an Open Day on 24th September 2011
(10 a.m. - 12 p.m.) so that adults and children can see for
themselves what we do at the club before deciding to join
us.
Please let us know if you would like to come on this day.
Our members also benefit from our '2 for 1 offer' - 2
children can attend for the price of 1!!!
Our aim is to introduce children to the fun of learning
French as early as possible, as well as discovering the
culture and customs. Our range is 6 YEARS to 12 YEARS, but
it is flexible.
The classes are held every Saturday during term time at St
Pauls Church Hall, St Pauls Close, (corner of Cranes Way and
Furzehill Road) and are 2 HOURS long in two sessions
(session 1 from 9am to 11am and session 2 from 11am to 1pm).
(Download a pdf of
the current term dates.) They cover the basis of the
language (parts of the body, colours, numbers, positions,
greetings, animals, clothes, transports, weather, etc.)
through songs, rhymes, activities, cooking sessions, and
traditional dances.
We use qualified and fully trained teachers who have a lot of experience teaching children BUT who are all NATIVE FRENCH SPEAKERS. Children can play, learn and are in total immersion in the French Language all through the sessions. Towards the end of the lesson, the children are having a break with songs, listening to a French story etc.
We encourage the parents to consider these activities as it will actively help their children in their communications skills and their progress as part of the primary schools curriculum. During the term, we bring magazines from France for the children to coincide with special events (Christmas, Valentine, Easter, Bastille Day, etc ...)
Parents why not treat yourself to some shopping? Or just a cup of Tea during those 2 hours? What better activities can you imagine for your little ones during a Saturday morning?
At the end of the term the children will invite their parents to a French Meal all prepared by them.
With the support of Tesco Borehamwood and Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council we will be offering a fun session to the kids and some peace to the mothers. You maybe able to get part of these sessions money back as part of the tax credits.
